Greg is a young executive whose primary concern, when
he first visited us, was "the stain on my front teeth".
It turns out that the "stain" was from coffee.
Ordinarily, this is not a difficult problem to solve,
but in Greg's case, as is the situation with many people,
the coffee's acidity had not only stained his enamel but
also weakened it. As a result of this weakening, when he
tried to vigorously brush away the stain, he was also
brushing away his enamel. The more he brushed the more
they stained until he was left with no enamel covering
his front teeth.
He was totally unaware of the problem since there is
no discomfort associated with the problem, but had this
process continued for even a few more years, there might
not have been anything left to fix. Fortunately, we were
able to place porcelain veneers on his front 6 teeth replacing
missing enamel with porcelain. Veneers are a very conservative
procedure which meant we were able to preserve most of
the remaining tooth structure.
